Miraculous Herbs in Ayurveda-Good for Body and Mind

In Ayurveda, herbs are generally considered as medicinal plants. These herbs are good to treat and cure ailments as well as improving well-being. Moreover, these natural ingredients can be used for giving good flavour to food.

In the present days, various herbs are in great use for medicines, food and also for manufacturing beauty products. For the years, people in India have been using these aromatic plants almost in every sphere of their life. These ingredients are highly effective to maintain a good health and also come with no side effects.

Here is the list of some herbs that people trust and also use them for healing various health issues.

 

Aloe Vera :

Aloe Vera is useful for multiple digestion related problems such as acidity, indigestion, excessive flatulence, constipation, loss of hunger and appetite. The uses of this herb are immense and highly useful for improving overall health.

The fresh juice applied on the face can work well to improve skin texture and reduce blemishes. The pulp extracted from the leaves of the Aloe Vera plant can be taken regularly to improve digestion. Mix some turmeric powder into the pulp of Aloe Vera and heat on fire.  After this, apply it on the affected area to get relief from pain and swelling in joints.

 

Basil :

Basil is another herb that is enriched with various health benefits. It has anti-oxidant properties and also works as nerve tonic and boosts mind. In Ayurveda, Basil is also recommended as a holy herb. It helps in eliminating toxins from the body and helps you fight against diseases.

It is also believed to hold anti-asthmatic and anti-infective properties. In the Indian tradition, people have been using it for treating cold and flu for years. Besides this, it is also known as a fine way to relieve respiratory infections, asthma, and seasonal allergies.

Sometimes, when you feel stressed or depressed, you can take tea made of it.

 

Neem :

Neem tree is a natural cleanser that eliminates toxins from the body. It helps in making skin flawless and pimple-free. It is recommended both for internal and external use. The juice extracted from Neem leaves or paste can be applied on the skin eruptions.

 

This natural ingredient also works as a blood purifier. It could be changed into power form to make small balls and can be taken on an empty stomach. In Ayurveda, Neem is recommended light in nature and cold in action. It is a natural antiseptic, antipruritic and a natural wound healer.

Whenever it comes to keep skin clear, smooth and soft, Neem is highly preferable herb. It has the property of blood purification. Therefore, it is useful in reducing acne, pimples, blemishes and other skin allergies.

 

Garlic :

According to Ayurveda garlic is a fine stimulant and rejuvenator. It contains the distinctive property of renewing the damaged body tissues. It helps in improved digestion and has soothing effect on the brain, eyes and throat.

Garlic helps in removing parasites from the intestines, relieving swelling and making bones strong. It is also effective to fight toxins and enhancing the general body resistance against a disease.

 

Ashwagandha :

Ashwagandha is one herb that could provide multiple health benefits. It helps in eliminating stress from your life, providing relief from joint plain and improves sleeping disorders.

In Ayurveda, Ashwagandha is considered a beneficial herb for energizing overall wellbeing of an individual. It is a fine remedy to increase the body weight or maintain a good health. This natural herb has benefits for both physical and mental health.

 

Turmeric :

This yellow, gold and orange coloured spice is used almost every part of India to cook food. Turmeric has wound healing properties and also gives relief from pain. You can apply it with mixing mustard oil on the painful areas of the body.

According to the Ayurveda, this herb is also considered to be a destroyer of all three basic doshas of bodies which are Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Drinking milk with added turmeric can work great to heal the body pain and enhancing beauty.

 

Brahmi :

Brahmi is found in damp places like rivers and ponds. Its leaves are kidney shaped and highly effective to cure ailments related to the dysfunction of the brain.

As a natural brain tonic, Brahmi comes with wonderful benefits to intellect as well as memory power. It is not only good for making brain sharp but also helpful in healing ailments like epilepsy and anxiety.

 

Amla :

One of the main herbs used in Triphala is Amla. This herb is useful in improving weak immune system. It helps in developing healthy, glowing skin and preventing premature aging. It is also good to maintain a better liver health.
