Are you making these Skin Care Mistakes?

thehealthvedaApril 16, 2018May 21, 2018

Everybody has their own skin care regime. May it be for a minute in the morning or a  Skin Pampering Session before dozing off, everyone has their best intentions to make the Skin Look Fresh and Radiant. However, no matter how practical we all are, we might play some unintentional roles in worsening our skin health.

Lifestyle is one of the most challenging factors that lead to a better skin. Alcohol, smoking, junk foods/ improper diets and a lazy lifestyle all lead to a stage of Pre-Mature Ageing and other Skin Damages. Hence, to know some, given below are certain skin care mistakes that we make:

1.  Washing your face too many times or not at all :

To remove the dirt and dust from your Pores, Cleansing your Face Twice a day with a Mild Face Wash is Enough. Washing your face more than two times leads to stripping off of the natural oils present in the skin. With no oil present, the skin produce even more oils, which becomes a cause of oily face and acne.

2.  Low Water Intake :

Imagine your skin cells to be water balloons. Now, think about two bunch of water balloons, one filled completely with water, and the other filled half with water. If pictured right, the balloons that are all filled with water will have a smoother surface than that of the other one, which will be saggy and wrinkly. So, which type of skin do you want? If first is your answer, then next time do not skip that glass of water.

3.  Using scorching hot water for shower :

It is said that we should take shower with cold water, however, there are many who cannot stand it. Hence, using lukewarm water for showering off the body dirt is the best solution.

Make sure that you do not use scorching hot water, the reason being, that hot water leaves your pores open, making the skin dry and prone to dirt and bacteria that may cause infections.

4.  Dozing off without Washing your Face :

It is the night time that the skin goes through the rejuvenation process. The term ‘Beauty Sleep’ somewhat stands true because of the fact that while you are sleeping, the body accelerates the blood flow to all body parts, thus, you wake up with a glowing face. On the other hand, being sleep-deprived can lead to skin problems, for example, Acne, Inflammation in the Skin Cells, Puffy Eye Bags, Dark Circles, etc.

5.  Popping the Pimples :

Those annoying zits have left no one alone in this whole world. Of course with acne comes popping of the pimples, which becomes the main cause for scarring.

So, remind yourself next time while picking on that zit of how beautiful your skin should be and stop touching them at any cost.

6.  Under or Over-Exfoliation of the Skin :

Skin exfoliation is one of the important skin regime processes as it helps in getting rid of bacteria in the pores and scrapes off the dead skin. People while exfoliating fall into two categories; some who do not exfoliate for months, and some, who scrub their skin as if washing a dirt iron pan. However, making it easy, exfoliate your skin gently at least twice in a week to leave your skin radiant.

7.  Nobody sees you with Make-up while Sleeping :

If you are someone who use makeup on a daily basis, or even once in two years, never to forget cleansing off the make-up before you put yourself to bed. This is because make-up tends to block the skin pores hence, chocking your skin.

Cleaning the make-up helps prevent acne and dull skin. Also, make sure that every time you put on make-up, your brushes are clean to use. Dirty make-up brushes are hotels to harmful bacteria.

8.  The Unhealthy Lifestyle that You Follow :

If you really crave for the best skin, there are three certain life changes you got to make; (1) to eat healthy food and skip junks, (2) get plenty of sleep, and (3) avoid higher intake of alcohol and quit smoking.

Smoking is one activity that makes your body prone to free radicals, thus leading to damaged blood vessels and lower rate of collagen production. This keeps your skin fragile and dull. On the other hand, having lots of green veggies, fruits and healthy foods help in introducing antioxidants in the body, that fights free radicals, thus making your skin shine bright.
