Get Relief from Muscle Weakness with Natural Remedies at Home

Before beginning, let’s take a small test! Try to sit on the floor in a cross-legged position and get up without taking the help of your hands for support. If you can do it, you are without a doubt in good health, but if you can’t, it indicates muscle weakness. Some of the clear signals of weak muscles are feeling heaviness in your arms and legs in an unusual way. Or if you’ve to put extra efforts for performing even basic activities like getting up from the couch etc.

Now, what is muscle weakness? When all your struggles are not capable of producing the required muscle contractions or movements, you may have muscle weakness. Extreme workouts are known to result in muscle weakness until you give proper time for relaxation to the muscles. Or this weakness can happen because of some underlying illness, which may need treatment.

Beside weakness, you can have other signs like burning sensation in a certain body part, loss of coordination in muscles, spasms and pain, prickling sensations and twitching etc.

Don’t take this problem lightly. If you are facing it for no apparent reason, visit your doctor for a proper diagnosis. Meanwhile, you can try some simple yet effective natural remedies at home to tackle this problem.

Epsom Salt Bath :

The number one remedy is taking a bath with water containing Epsom salt. As being rich in magnesium, it helps to increase the magnesium levels in your body, which is important for the proper working of muscles.

Plus it gives a relaxing and healing effect. Just fill your bathtub with warm water and add 2 cups of Epsom salt to it. After stirring it in a proper manner, enjoy this soothing bath for about 15-20 minutes once a week.

Almonds :

Having a rich source of magnesium and vitamin E; almonds are helpful for your muscles as well as overall health.  In addition, they have the capability of converting carbohydrates and proteins from foods to energy. This, in turn, helps to deal with muscle weakness. All you have to do is, take 8-10 almonds and soak them overnight. After removing the skin, blend them in a cup of milk and consume this drink.

Exercise :

Don’t get mistaken by thinking that in case of muscle weakness you don’t need to exercise. Mild exercises are a must for building muscle strength and improve circulation.

The best exercise you can do on regular basis is walking. Try to have a walk for at least 30 minutes. Or you can try Yoga to keep your energy level high.

Oil Massage :

A regular massage with oil is helpful in increasing the flow of blood to the surface of the skin. This, in turn, loosens up the muscles and improves the circulation so that more and more nutrients reach the weak muscles. All this makes the weak muscles stronger. You can take any oil of your choice like olive, coconut and mustard oil. Warm it up and put on the body especially the legs. Massage for 10-15 minutes in a gentle manner.

Milk :

It contains many vitamins and minerals; hence, is the best natural concoctions for human health.

All the nutrient content of it makes it effective for restoring muscle health. So, consume a glass of plain milk two times a day on regular basis to stay fit and strong.

Proper Intake of Water :

Are you aware of the fact, that dehydration is one of the main causes of muscle weakness? Thus to reduce this condition, a simple way is to rehydrate your body as it can help to strengthen the muscles. Try to drink 8-10 glasses of water in a day for proper hydration of the body. Along with this, eat more water-containing fruits and vegetable meaning which are juicy. Avoid taking caffeinated drinks and alcohol as it further dehydrates your body.

Vitamin D :

The deficiency of this vitamin is often associated with low muscle strength. So, it is important to correct this, and give your body the right amount of vitamin D.

It is helpful in the regulation of calcium; which is important for healthy muscles. For helping your body to produce vitamin D, try to spend some time in the sunlight. Being in early morning sunlight for 10-15 minutes in routine is helpful. Avoid the harsh UV sunrays at the peak hours of the day. In addition to this, you can eat vitamin D rich foods like cereals, milk, oranges etc.

So, in case you relate with the symptoms of this problem, you can follow any of the above-shared remedies to get relief from muscle weakness. Along with this, maintain a healthy lifestyle. Avoid addictions such as smoking, drinking, tobacco, and caffeine etc. Try not to take foods which are high in saturated fats. Take foods rich in vitamin B and minerals.
